How are Low-Code and No-Code Apps Fuelling Digital Transformation?

Low code/No code is Transforming the Future

Developers and individuals in other tech-related jobs are in high demand, especially in AI and data science. Organizations can close the gap with the help of citizen data scientists. Low-code and no-code AI technologies make it possible for citizen data scientists to come up with unique AI solutions for many situations without the help of an AI expert.

As technology changes quickly, there is a big rise in the need for technological solutions and AI technologies. For example, AI systems need complicated software with a lot of code, different frameworks, and the Internet of Things (IoT). The variety of complicated technology makes it hard for one person to understand every technical detail. Software delivery needs to be done on time, work well, and be safe, all while keeping high standards.

Low code/No code Apps are Changing the Dynamics

The skill shortages in the tech industry have long been a sore point.

Researchers at the Boston-based company Mendix found that the demand for developers among IT professionals has reached a fever pitch. Nearly six in ten (57%) say while the cost of making software is increasing by 61%, the demand for software developers is also increasing. LCAP is the answer for a lot of businesses.

Mendix’s State of Low-Code 2021 report, conducted in six countries, also says that 77% of enterprises have already started using LCAP to make up for this shortage. While 75% of IT leaders feel— with low-code solutions becoming central to business operations, it’s a trend they absolutely can’t afford to miss.

Businesses also require flexibility and agility in their tech stacks. Low-code enabled business process management (BPM), robotic process automation (RPA) solution or an LCAP can automate and digitize business processes to develop enterprise applications internally.

Professionals can use these tools to complete tasks two to three times faster than traditional tools. Low-code and no-code tools also enable businesses to utilize their expertise to reduce friction between IT and end users. Ultimately, it creates standardized processes that require less IT intervention.

The Bottom Line

Today, every business has become a software business. The power is gradually shifting from internal IT teams toward business teams. Software is being developed to address business challenges and meet the increasing expectations of customers. Therefore, it is imperative that software development closely aligns with your business teams. Having said that, even the largest financial organizations are struggling to hire enough developers. Low-code and no-code apps are empowering business teams to create their own applications.
